An original watercolor illustration of mermaids having girl talk in a lagoon. From my shared exhibition with Remi Yamamoto, “Things Left Unsaid,” a show about connections with friends and nature.
I painted this piece after seeing a stinky thermal pool while on vacation. It was naturally the color of cartoon battery acid and smelled like old egg. I imagined mermaids having girl talk there, maybe reaping the benefits of the sulfur in the pools, and was reminded of how my cousin and I chit chatted once for like 5 and a half hours in a korean spa in New Jersey. This is a piece dedicated to her, for our many girl talks throughout the years!
5×7 inch painting on a 7×9 inch paper
Ships in a frame with museum-grade protective glass to protect the watercolor pigments from fading in light. Watercolor paintings are prone to fading when exposed to sunlight! Please hang away from direct light or store in a cool, dark place.
