I painted this after my cousins took me to a farm to pet animals. There, I saw a little over a dozen sheep resting under a large tree, and was inspired to paint them because of how relaxed they looked under the shade. In reality, they had no interest in a human spoiling their nap and got up when they saw me coming. But in this painting, they were happy to have extra company.
