Live Pet Portraits @ Yoseka Land
A duo portrait event (of people and pets) with Remi Yamamoto
Manga artist, Remi (@yamamotoinnyc) and I hosted a one day pet drawing event at Yoseka Stationery’s event space, Yoseka Land. There, we promoted our upcoming joint art show, “Things Left Unsaid”, and met dozens of people with their cute pets!
We drew our portraits on the backs of a Yoseka-themed postcard design, which I designed in watercolors and fountain pen ink. Yoseka Stationery used this design for their postcards that ship with every order!
I designed these cards for Yoseka to use for the event, but they packed them with online orders too! I painted Yoseka's iconic storefront window on the back and some popular stationery items on the front.
I left a few prints for sale for people to browse while waiting for their portrait.
We hosted a similar event a month later during our exhibition, "Things Left Unsaid"
I painted the postcard design in fountain pen ink and watercolor! You can see in the corner of the picture a little swatch card where I tested the colors. I wanted to keep the colors warm and fall-toned.
